Previous Daily Devotional Look and see His little ones so afraid... John 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (NIV) You pass them on the street. You work with them, you go to school with them, you play with them, and you talk with them on the phone. The nursing homes are full of them. The hospitals admit them and dismiss them. All those eyes. All those eyes full of fear. All those eyes full of helplessness and anxiety. In a world of ego and greed, there are millions of others who do not have such braggadocio. Your world is full of those who cannot fend for themselves. There are those who must battle pain and suffering in silence. They need you. There are those who want to climb up to the next level but are afraid and so they do not try. They need you. There are the blind, deaf, mute, and disabled who live in isolation. They need you. All those eyes need you. Today, tomorrow, or the day after, look into those eyes. See it? See the fear of failure? See the fear of embarrassment? See the fear of making a mistake? See the fear of loneliness? See the fear of abandonment? If you look and you see, you can also do. When you look and see, then you can reach out and soothe the fear. You can encourage, embolden, and give comfort. In Christ's name and for His kingdom you can reach out and touch what is behind those eyes. |
