Previous Daily Devotional About living in a spirit of communion with Christ… 1
John 1:3 We proclaim to you what we
have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our
fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. (NIV) Every second we have the opportunity to live our life in a spirit of
communion with Christ. We achieve this communion in spirit by giving thanks to
Him for each day we are alive and by giving thanks for the many blessings and
graces God bestows upon us. Living in a state of continual thanksgiving and
praise brings us closer to God and permits us to be near Him in humility. We
come into a communion of spirit with Christ when we express our love to Him by
telling Him we love Him with our words, telling Him we love Him with our
thoughts, and telling Him we love Him by how we treat others. Each of us has the
opportunity to be in a spirit of communion with God and in a spirit of communion
with His love as we express our adoration to Him and for Him. When we see His
sacrifice for us on the cross… And we turn away from who we are… And we ask Him to restore us to a state of being newly born in spirit… Our time of communion begins… Our communion in spirit with Him can remain with us for the rest of our
lives. During our time of communion, as we lift up our eyes and our hearts to Him, God smiles broadly and His warmth overflows in our life. As we persevere through the many hurts and heartaches of life, God brings us power and a renewed spirit as we sit in communion with Him. In our spirit of communion with Christ we find our reason for being. In our spirit of communion with Him, we hear His call to be His special child upon this earthly plain. We achieve a spirit of communion with Christ as we try to be His witnesses. We achieve a spirit of communion with Him as we live our life with a clean heart and a clean mind so as to always glorify His name.
