Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (NIV) You can try to fly without wings or without some kind of aerodynamic propulsion device, but you will fail. Human beings cannot fly without help from some kind of aerodynamic device. In the same way, you cannot spiritually produce in your life without Christ. To spiritually produce you must have a source of spiritual fuel or spiritual power. When you remain or live in Christ, He will remain or live in you. Christ is a being of love and Christ gives back to you in fuller measure than you give to Him. Christ's giving more to you than you give to Him is how Christ supplies you with spiritual fuel to get you through the day. You can do many things on your own and the world may applaud you for what you do on your own. However, to do any kind of lasting spiritual work, you must be connected to Christ in order to succeed. You can do many things in the world on your own. However, with Christ you can do even greater things of spiritual substance with Christ Jesus.
