Previous Daily Devotional About
living in Christ when you are poor… Mark 12:42 But a poor widow came and put
in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny. (NIV) Poverty
is grinding and dehumanizing. When we are being ground down by poverty, we need
to go to a place where we can find rest and wealth in spirit. When you have no
physical wealth, count your blessings as you rest in Him. When you are poor in
money, count your life as you live in Him. Count your opportunities to praise
Him. Count you moments of pain when you live in Him in spite of your pain. When
poverty grinds you down, live free from the worry of wealth for God does not see
your money or your finances…He sees you. Poverty in money does not matter to
God, but poverty in spirit grieves God. Live in Him and you become incredibly
rich. It is better to be rich in God’s love than rich in money. When we are
poor, we live in desperation, but when we live in Christ, we are not poor any
longer. When we are poor, we lose hope, but when we live in Christ, we are full
of eternal hope. For the rest of your days, say to Him, “I live in thee.”
