Previous Daily Devotional About living, moving, and having our being… Acts 17: 28 `For in him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, `We are his offspring.' We are all children of God for He made us each and every one. We live and move and have our being in Him in a way that is like a fish living, moving, and finding life by living in water. A fish lives, moves, and finds life from the water in which the fish lives. If the fish is taken out of the water, the fish dies. In much the same way, each of us, although we often refuse to recognize the reality, lives in the supernatural living water of Christ. God is our supplier of life. God is the supplier of the living water that gives us life. When we refuse to come to grips with the fact that we are under the power and influence of God or when we rebel against the power and influence of God, we flop ourselves out of the living water and live our life gasping and choking for what we need the most…God's living water. For sure, people can be really stupid in spiritual terms. Fish do not want to live on land, but people want to get out from under the power of God that keeps them alive. Our secret to a life of peace and love in a fallen world is to always live each day in the peace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is Christ who continually supplies us with His living water from which all of us live, move, and have our being. |
