Previous Daily Devotional About living the truth Psalms 26:2 Test me, O LORD, and try me, examine my heart and my mind; 3 for your love is ever before me, and I walk continually in your truth. (NIV) It is one thing to read the truth, it is another thing to live it. We can read God's
word and be moved by its truth and candor. Yet, if we read the truth and do not live it,
then reading the truth turns out to be a meaningless exercise. If we read His truth and
understand His truth but do not live our lives like the truth has any meaning to us, then
we waste our time reading and understanding. In every way possible, we must live out God's
truth. It is not even enough to placate our souls by speaking or writing about the truth.
For God sees us from the inside out and when we speak or write the truth but do not live
it, He knows what we are doing. You can fool many people, but you cannot fool God. In
living our lives, we must seek to live every minute as if every minute is our last minute.
We must live our lives as if God is watching us every minute. For in truth, every minute
will be our last minute the next minute. For in truth, God is watching us every minute. We
do not need a second chance to live out the truth because we have a first chance right
now. We must live every minute as if God is watching us unless we choose to live a lie and
tell ourselves He has fallen asleep on the throne. |
