Previous Daily Devotional About living water from within… John 7:37 On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." 39 By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified. You can search for happiness in an endless pursuit of things, ideas, and avenues outside of yourself. You can go mad looking for happiness. You may think you will find happiness with another person. You can change jobs looking for happiness. You can change churches, or faiths looking for happiness. You can change your address by moving to another place. Tragically, some people shoot poison into their arms and drink poison with their mouths all in the search for happiness. This futile search needs to come to an end. True happiness, the living water of the living God, flows from within you. That is where God lives. His kingdom is within you and that is where we will find Him and the true happiness He can bring. |
