Previous Daily Devotional About
living with hope to be devout… Titus 2:13 while we wait for the blessed
hope--the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who
gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a
people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. (NIV) Some of us have a hope that gets us through the day. Others of us have little hope and we struggle from one day to the next gasping for breath to keep going. For those of us who have hope, we are able to persevere and resist the hopelessness brought on by temptation. Because some of us have a hope for living, we are able to live a devout life. Because we have a hope for living, we are able to do what is right. Because we have a hope for living, we are able to walk God’s narrow path. Because we have a hope for living, we are able to live a life of holiness. Jesus came to give us the hope of eternal life so we would live a good, clean life. Our hope for living in Christ resides in our belief we will see Him when we die or we will see Him when He returns to earth. Even as we walk the earth before we die, as we live a devout and holy life, Christ will give us a redeemed, renewed, and restored life made new because of His grace and love. In Christ, we are made clean. In Christ, we are purified from all or our sins and unrighteousness. Whatever problems we face in our daily life, no matter how big the problems might be, there is in our life a power much bigger than our problems and that power is the power of God in our hearts.
