Previous Daily Devotional About living with pain Psalm 38:17 For I am about to fall, and my pain is ever with me. 18 I confess my iniquity; I am troubled by my sin. 19 Many are those who are my vigorous enemies; those who hate me without reason are numerous. 20 Those who repay my good with evil slander me when I pursue what is good. 21 O LORD, do not forsake me; be not far from me, O my God. 22 Come quickly to help me, O Lord my Savior. (NIV) When you are in pain you cannot move, you cannot think. When you are in pain, you cannot do what you normally do. When the pain gets intense, you are totally distracted, you cannot pray, and you cannot focus. When you are in pain, you can meet Jesus. Even Christ seems not to exist, He is where you are, no matter how far away He seems to be at the time. Pain is a weapon the adversary does use against you. Pain creates the illusion that Christ is far away and not present within you. However, this illusion is only an illusion. The reality of every moment of your life, even the painful moments, is that Christ is within you and beside you. In your moments of pain, you can walk with Him and talk with Him. For only Christ can understand what you are going through. In your pain, even when you think He has deserted you, do not desert Him. |
