Previous Daily Devotional About
looking up to God… Isaiah 38:14 I cried like a swift or
thrush, I moaned like a mourning dove. My eyes grew weak as I looked to the
heavens. I am troubled; O Lord, come to my aid!" (NIV) Where are you looking for answers, for hope, for strength, for courage, and for love? Where you cast your eyes makes all the difference in what you see. Normally, we look to the world around us to find what we want and need. We often look to other people to find what we need and want. When we search for answers, hope, strength, courage, and love we even look down to Satan when he brings temptation upon us. Where we must first look is up to God. When we are in trouble, we too often hang our head and look down. If we are crying because we are in trouble and we look to the world for answers, the world will give us answers but the world’s answers are never complete. In our times of difficulty, if we look down and look for answers in revenge and hatred we will be consumed by Satan and our trouble will multiply. When the prophet Isaiah was in trouble Isaiah looked up. In his pain, Isaiah knew where to look for a real source of strength. In your times of difficulty, look up to God because He will hear your pleas and petitions. In your times of difficulty, look up to God because God will make His power and His blessings visible to your spirit. You can always look up to God in any difficulty because God loves you.
