(NIV) No one wants to lose part of their life. We all want as much of our life as we can grasp. We grieve when death takes another person. However, Christ wants your life. Christ wants you to lose your life issues so you can gain your life. Christ wants you to lose your pain-filled and earth-bound life issues so you can gain His eternal life. Christ wants your old sinful life and your sinful life issues so you can gain His redeemed and grace-filled life. On the surface, these theological ideas sound sensible and even attractive. However, we all live where the rubber meets the road. How do we lose our life issues so Christ can take our old life and make us into a new person with a new life? First, we must desire to change. We must desire to lose our life issues. Second, we must refuse to quit in working toward a life totally belonging to Christ. Third, we must prayerfully repent, prayerfully turn away, and prayerfully break the chains Satan has shackled to us. Our destructive life issues are on us because Satan tries to destroy us every second. Fourth, we must understand Christ's love makes all things possible. Fifth, we must let all of our being be touched by God. Sixth, we must let every part of our life be touched by Christ. Seventh, we must hide nothing from God. Eighth, we must surrender all to Him.
