About loving our different gifts in each other…

1 Corinthians 12:4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. (NIV)

There is one God. No matter how we might interpret what He says and how we interpret what we think He means, there is only one Supreme Being, only one Creator, only one Father. Although we might all have different gifts and talents, all our gifts and talents came from the same being and the same source…God the Father. If we ever think we are superior or inferior to others, we must remember in God's eyes we are not superior or inferior. In God's eyes, the person who does the most menial of jobs is just as important as the person we consider to have the most important job in the world. In God's eyes, everyone is equally fallen and is equally redeemable. The differences in our gifts from God should not make us think one of us is superior or inferior to any other. The differences in our gifts from God should all give us reasons to praise God. Our differences should give us reasons to encourage each other to use our gifts for Him. Our love for God and His handiwork should cause us to love our differences. For if we would all be honest, we would realize our world is so much better off because we are all different. If we all looked the same, we could never tell one person from another. What a nightmare! If we all had only the gift of writing, or only the gift of music, or only the gift of mechanical ability, or only the gift of salesmanship, or only the gift of any kind, we would not survive as a race of intelligent beings. The ultimate point is we are to treasure others. We are to treasure everyone as a child of God.
