Previous Daily Devotional About making peace through victory… Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? (NIV) Romans 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. (NIV) In the spiritual war in which we are all engaged, defeat is never an option. The only option in this spiritual war is victory. This spiritual war in which we are soldiers is ugly as are all wars. This spiritual war has casualties in the millions. Each day millions succumb and slip down into the abyss from which there is no escape and no exit. And what are the weapons we are to use in this spiritual war? Some of our weapons are love, kindness, caring, compassion, faith, and hope. All these and more are our weapons. Yet there is one more weapon, the most important weapon of all, and that weapon is salvation. There is something dissonant about talking of salvation in connection with war. There is something not right about talking of salvation as a weapon. Yet, our God is not and was not the creator of this war in which we are engaged. In the beginning, our creator wanted us to live in eternal bliss, harmony, and peace with Him for eternity. In His kind and gentle way, our God has given each of us a chance to win our final prize, our glorious prize of victory…our final prize of living with Him for eternity in eternal bliss, peace and harmony…the very prize He wanted for us all along…the victory He has already won for us.
