Previous Daily Devotional About making room for God… Psalms 10:2 In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises. (NIV) Whenever we are vain and arrogant, we make no room for God in our heart. When we are vain and arrogant, we are blind to the plight of the weak and downtrodden. Truly, vanity and arrogance are the enemies of God. In vanity and arrogance, our personal needs prevail over our need to be God's child. Instead of our personal needs, we must all strive to be humble and to let our life benefit and bless the needy around us. In vanity and arrogance, we will unfortunately make fun of God's flock. We must make room for God by being humble and by putting others first, even if we do not agree with them or even like them. To counter our in-born temptation to be vain and arrogant, we must cast our eyes upon Jesus. We must keep our heart a seeking heart…seeking Christ's love and will within us. We must always have a room within our thoughts for thoughts about God and for thoughts of God. To counter vanity and arrogance, we must take refuge in Christ's love by making room for Him in our heart.
