Previous Daily Devotional About the meaning of faithfulness… 2 Samuel 22:22 For I have kept the ways of
the Lord; I have not done evil by turning from my God. 23 All his laws are
before me; I have not turned away from his decrees. 24 I have been blameless
before him and have kept myself from sin. 25 The Lord has rewarded me according
to my righteousness, according to my cleanness in his sight. 26 "To the
faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself
blameless, (NIV) When we take an oath or we
make an obligation, we are to be faithful. We are to be steadfast and unmoving
in our behavior. When a faithful person swears to uphold an agreement, the
faithful person remains steadfast and unmoving by honoring and cherishing the
contents of the agreement. When a person is loyal, they are faithful. A loyal
person is undeviating in allegiance to other persons, to their church, and to
their God. Because we love God and because He loves us, our faithfulness to God
causes us to be morally bound to support and defend our faith at all costs.
Faithfulness means keeping to a task when you want to quit. Many times in life,
you may want to turn away from God instead of turning toward Him. However, being
faithful to God means staying focused on Him and not becoming distracted by the
influences of Satan's attractions in the world. Faithfulness means you stay with
God through every hardship and adversity. |
