moving across barriers… Joshua 3:13 And as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the Lord--the Lord of all the earth--set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap." (NIV) There are human and earthly barriers we cannot cross. There are many times we come to a place where we cannot get from here to there. There are many times we say or think something will never happen. Perhaps you catch yourself thinking there is no way for things to change. Perhaps you catch yourself thinking there is no way for things to ever be different than they are now. However, let us look at the bigger picture of life and of things being the way they are. Let us try and look at the picture of the ways things are as God sees the picture. What may be a barrier to you may be a defining line for God put in place by Him so you will do only His perfect will. For example, you may want to move to a new city and start a new life. There may be very compelling reasons for your wanting to do what you want to do in life. You may have dramatic and compelling reasons why God should act to melt down the barriers that stand before you. Knowing all this, God does not do bad things to you or for you. However, God expects you and God expects every person on earth to do great things whether God does what you want Him to do or not. In the face of every barrier, even the barriers you may never be able to cross, God expects you to do great things in spite of the barrier and even because of the barrier.
