moving toward God with a hurting heart… John 12:26 Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. (NIV) When your heart is hurting, God understands how you might want Him to come to you and fix you. However, He also understands how your healing requires you to get up and go to Him. Sitting idly in a corner waiting to be served by God, even when ones heart is hurting, is not a healthy attitude. When you go to Christ, it shows Him you really do want Him to heal you. Going to Christ when your heart is hurting also shows Him you really do love Him and trust Him. In times of heartbreak, the pain is strongest in the beginning but when you run to the shelter of Christ’s arms, your healing immediately begins. Eventually your pain is something you can put aside so your life returns to a more normal state. Although it may sound ludicrous in the beginning when your pain is the worst, as you progress in the healing process in Christ’s arms, later on the scars from the hurt can be counted as blessings.
