About needing to follow God…

Deuteronomy 13:4 It is the LORD your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him. (NIV)

Even in temptation, you can hear the voice and call of God…if you would just listen. Many persons know the way of God. Many persons know the signs God places in their life…the signs pointing toward living a life of holiness. When you are tempted, open your heart up to Christ and He will be with you. When you are tempted and you seek God's hand upon you, He will strengthen you as He gives you power to overcome the influence of Satan. When you are assailed and attacked by life and life's temptations, God has given you His written commandments in scripture. When you are attacked by the darkness of temptation, follow the way of God. When you feel the distress, tension, and the tearing at your soul by temptation, God speaks to you. When you are in a survival mode as you try to survive the present moment, God is with you. In your survival mode, God gives you glimpses of His eternity. In temptation, when your eyes are dazzled by the world, remain in Christ. Remain in Christ for He has more amazing things for you to see in Heaven's eternity than you could ever see in the world.
