Previous Daily Devotional About needing to follow God Deuteronomy 13:4 It is the LORD your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him. (NIV) Everyone can hear the voice and call of God, if we would but listen. Almost everyone knows the way of God. We all know the signs God has placed in our life the signs that point us to living a life of holiness. When we are tempted, we can open our heart up to Christ and He will be with us. When we are tempted and we seek God's hand upon us, He will strengthen us and give us power to overcome the influence of Satan. We must remember when we are assailed and attacked by life and life's temptations that God has given us His written commandments in scripture. When we are attacked by the darkness of temptation, we already know the way of God. For when we feel the distress, the tension, and the tearing at our souls by temptation, we have felt these things because God is speaking to us. When we are in a survival mode and trying to survive the present moment, God is still with us and He is still giving us glimpses of His eternity. At other times, when our eyes are dazzled by the world, we must remain in Christ, for He has more amazing things for us to see in Heaven's eternity than we could ever see in the world. When we try to figure out which way we should go in life, God will show us the way as we study His words and His wisdom. When we are caught up in our egos, believing we can do all things on our own, by ourselves, with our own power and strength, God will remind us. God will remind us that all the power we have, all the ability we have, and all the strength we have is directly from Him. |
