About never turning back…

Luke 17:32 Remember Lot 's wife! (NIV)

You can go through the motions of being godly and righteous. You can walk away from sin with your body, but your heart must be turned away from the sin, lust, and attractiveness of the sin. You can walk away from sin with your body but you must also walk away from sin in your heart. Lot ’s wife had a heart that never left the sin. Lot ’s wife tried to walk away from the sin in her life by walking away in her body but she did not walk away from the sin in her heart. She could not leave the sin in her heart behind. As Lot ’s wife tried to walk away from the sin, the sin in her heart made her longingly look back to the sin and God then turned her into a pillar of salt. In each of our lives, if we do not turn away from the sin in our heart, the salt in our tears covers our cheeks. However, if we want to turn away from our sin, if we want to throw off the chains of sin’s slavery, our precious Lord Jesus will come to us, He will give us courage, and He will help us turn away and stay focused on the good and grand future of our life in Him. Each person on earth can do such wonderful works for God in his or her life. Each person on earth can live a life contributing great things to the lives of others and to the world. It is for these good and grand reasons we must break the chains of sin’s slavery by turning away from our sin and turning to Christ as our Savior and Lord.
