Previous Daily Devotional About not wanting… Psalms 23:1 I shall not want. You can say "I shall not want" but to "not want" you have to mean what you say. In your daily life, today and tomorrow, your life will be full of your wants and needs. You and all other people upon the earth are bombarded by wants and needs. However, step back for a minute and survey your life. In your wants and needs, count all your blessings (if you can count that high). After you have counted your blessings, recall how your infinite God carries your heart in His infinite love. After you have surveyed, counted, and recalled your blessings, the power of God's love comes over you. Suddenly, your wants and needs are minimized or disappear altogether…all because you counted your blessings. When you try to grasp the infinite love of God by counting your blessings, the world begins to fade away. The more of Christ you hold in your heart the less you want.
