Previous Daily Devotional About our daily quest… John 17:1 After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. 2 For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. 3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. (NIV) In His final hours of earthly life, Jesus prayed to God and submitted His will to his Father in Heaven. Jesus prayed "not my will, but thine be done." Jesus was always praying. When things collapse, we must yield to God. Getting down on your knees is supposedly not a manly thing to do for a man, and the women's liberation movement likely wouldn't approve of getting down on your knees and praying either. However, we must remember it is at our worst times the Lord can do His best work with us…if we are willing to let God touch us and we are willing to let His will be our will. It is our daily quest to let our will be submerged in His love. It is our daily quest to only do what God wants us to do. It is our daily quest to only be what God wants us to be. For our Lord and Savior calls us every hour to be His child and only do His will. |
