Previous Daily Devotional About our inescapable God… Psalms 139: 5 You hem me in--behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. 7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? 8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. 9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. We long to see God but we are blind to Him. We long to hear His voice but we are deaf to His call upon our heart. We seek God out in places of beauty and we do not find Him, yet He is everywhere, even in life's ugliness and trauma. How can this be? How can God be everywhere yet we still miss finding Him? We miss finding God because of us, not because of Him. We miss finding God because our hearts are darkened with our sin. We miss finding God because we cannot tell His truth. However, He knows. He knows we seek Him but we are lost. He knows we want to see Him but we are blind. He knows we want to hear His voice but we are deaf. Yet, God does not just sit back and watch us struggle. God, in His Son, reaches out to us and touches us. God, in His Son, speaks to us in His words of love we so dearly want to hear.
