Previous Daily Devotional About
our measure of success… Acts 7:59 While they were stoning him,
Stephen prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." 60 Then he fell on
his knees and cried out, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them."
When he had said this, he fell asleep. (NIV) We are all involved in a spiritual war. We are all soldiers of the cross. In the realities of our secular world, we measure our success in war by how many of our enemies have been destroyed or by how much of the enemy's property we have destroyed or conquered. Yet in the spiritual war of the cross, when we come against evil we do not measure our success by dead bodies or broken things. In our spiritual war of the cross we measure our success by the number of lives saved, the number of hearts changed, and the number of souls Christ will welcome into His eternity. In your daily walk, when you see evil or you must battle evil, do all you can to bring the light and love of Christ into the presence of evil. In this way, lives will be saved, hearts will be changed, and souls will be welcomed into Christ's eternity.
