our rescue from our hopeless pit… Genesis 2:17 But of the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou
eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. (KJV) We
fell from God's grace. We fell from living totally in God's love in perfect
paradise. After we fell from grace, God could have left us down and fallen
beyond help. After we fell from grace, God could have left us hopeless and
without any light in the darkness. However, God was kind and merciful to
us…lowly sinners all. God sent to us a person to save us from the consequences
of our sinful rebellion. Although we are not deserving of salvation, God sent us
a savior who suffered and died for us. God did not send us some third or fourth
party to save us. God did not send us a hired courier to save us. God did not
send us one of His special followers or wise men to save us. God did not send us
one of His angels to save us. God sent us His very own Son. God sent us a part
of Himself. God sent us His very own immaculate heart of hearts. God sent us His
Son, Jesus Christ, to rescue us from the hopeless pit into which we are born and
the hopeless pit in which we will surely die unless we accept Christ as our Lord
and Savior. May God grant each of us the wisdom to understand the magnitude of
our failure and may God also help us find the wisdom to understand how much God
love's us. |
