About our transformation…

Matthew 17:2 There He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light.

One of the reasons Christ’s transfiguration or transformation was shown to the apostles and now shown to us through their words is so we can understand what life will be like for us in heaven. In addition, His transfiguration was shown to us so we can know a little about the transformation which can take place in us as we clothe ourselves in His humility while we are alive here on earth. When we humble ourselves before God we are then given God’s grace, and within His grace we are transformed. In our earthly life, we won’t be transformed like Jesus was transformed on the mount that day. On earth, our face will not light up like the face of Moses when we saw God moving away. However, when we humble ourselves before God, we will change and people will see the change in us. When we humble ourselves enough, the radiance of God’s love will show from within us and people will notice the difference. When we humble ourselves enough, people will see a difference in us like people saw a difference in Stephen when he was brought before the Sanhedrin.

Acts 6:15 All who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel.
