Previous Daily Devotional This Devotional Is Part Of A Special Continuing Series Related To Dependency And Co-dependency Issues. Rules Of Godly Common Sense Apply. About overeating… Romans 12:12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. There is no quick and easy way to stop overeating because all of us must eat. All of us must eat to survive. When we eat more than we need because we have an issue or weakness we are not being who Christ wants us to be. Eating gives us comfort from hunger. Because eating gives us comfort, refraining from overeating is easier to talk about than it is to do. Millions of people go on diets to lose weight. We must try to remember eating or overeating will not solve any problems or issues we may have in various parts of our life. All of us, regardless of the issues we face, must do all we can to pray more, meditate more, and worship more. If we pray more, meditate more, and worship more, then our battle with hunger becomes more winnable. In battling against the darkness wanting us to overeat, we must see the truth. We must see how the dark forces of the world want us to live in excess in all parts of our life rather than living in moderation. We must also see the rest of the truth, the truth of Christ dieing on the cross to see us free…free from all forms of the darkness, including the darkness overeating. |
