Previous Daily Devotional Pack Of Lies No. 2 John 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (NIV) A Lie: You will have the same pain tomorrow you had today A lie can be a catchy thing. A lie can keep us down and degraded beyond our ability to cope. Lies can eat away at our soul and leave us spiritually and even physically gaunt and wasted. However, the truth can set us free. With the freedom we receive by telling the truth, comes our responsibility to be mature and handle our life in a productive manner. The truth is, you may not have the same pain tomorrow you had today because your pain today may be gone by tomorrow. Plus, if you focus only on your pain today and believe your pain will still be with you tomorrow, you increase your chances to feel pain tomorrow. The truth is, your worries of tomorrow will be different than the worries you have today. However, if you let your worries consume you today, your worries tomorrow will be greater than your worries today. The truth is, the world may not be bent on self-destruction. We have never totally destroyed ourselves, even when we have tried to do so. The truth is, when we hang our head in shame, we are looking down at the ground and not up to Heaven. The truth is, when our spirit is down, the darkness has made us its captive and the darkness has caused us to fail and make mistakes. |
