Previous Daily Devotional About peace and security… 1 Corinthians 15: 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory." 55 "Where, O death, is your victory? (NIV) Knowing our ultimate destination in life gives us ultimate security. When we know where we will be at the end of our life's journey, then all other things, events, and persons in our life take on a new perspective. Knowing for sure that when we die we will be in Heaven, gives us the security to deal with all of our temporary day to day problems. In truth, none of us will be on this earth permanently. All of us are on the earth for just a little while. There is peace and security in knowing that no matter what happens to us today, that we will inherit an imperishable body and live in peace and joy after our bodies stop working. |
