a perfect home… Proverbs
27:8 Like a bird that strays from its nest is a man who strays from his home. (NIV) In the chaos, change, and turmoil of our life, we need a place to go as a refuge. We need a place to go to renew and restore our soul. We normally think of a place to renew and restore our soul to be our home. Of course, there is no such place as a perfect earthly home. There is no such place as a perfect earthly home because the world invades our space and we cannot leave the outside world truly outside. In our earthly home we can often feel sadness, aloneness, pain, and suffering. However, in this very time and in the very place where you are right now, there is a perfect home. Perhaps you cannot go to this perfect home in physical terms, but you can most certainly and most definitely go to this perfect home in spiritual terms. Your perfect spiritual home has a door within you, and there lives within your perfect spiritual home someone who loves you in every possible healthy way. In your spiritual home within you, when you open the door you will see Jesus smiling and waiting for you. At His kitchen table you will find joy, laughter, peace, love, compassion, and understanding. At His kitchen table you will find warmth, comfort, blessings, and friendship. Of all the places you have ever been or will ever be in your life, there is no place like being in His perfect home within you. Every hour He calls to you to come home. Every hour He seeks to have you near.
