Previous Daily Devotional About the power of honesty Job 6:24 "Teach me, and I will be quiet; show me where I have been wrong. 25 How painful are honest words! (NIV) To live life honestly, to live in reality, we must be honest in knowing what is happening inside us and within our lives. If we remain ignorant about what is inside us, we ignore what is going on in God's temple. When we are not honest with ourselves, we ignore the kingdom of God that is within us. When we are in adversity or in tough times, we should know and deal with the facts. Even when situations crumble in our lives, the more you know, the more power you have over them. This is why honesty is so important. When we are honest, we are able to face the facts and when we face the facts we have power over what the facts tell us. If we lie to ourselves, we put ourselves in a helpless position because we have no power over the way things are. It is better to have power over bad things than to have no power over bad things. Obviously, we do not want adversity in our life. However, when adversity comes, being honest is a top priority. |
