Previous Daily Devotional About
the power of prayer, Part 5 of 5 Acts
10:9 About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching
the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray. (NIV) The
power of prayer opens heaven. The power of prayer gives us intimate access to
the very heart of God and access to all the heavenly beings residing therein. The
power of prayer gives us an eagerness to face perils, danger, and fatigue for
our God. Instead of shrinking back in fear and intimidation, the power of prayer
gives us added motivation and a taste of the invincible power of God. Given a
taste of the invincible power of God, we feel challenged rather than fearful
when we are threatened. The
power of prayer is a power giving us strength. In our prayer time, we overcome
our weaknesses and we are made stronger. God's power in us gives us added
spiritual energy we can find nowhere else. So powerful is the power of God, His
almighty power raises us up from death unto life. The
substance of God is love. In His love, when we surrender our all up to Him, we
receive back more than our all. When we ask for little in prayer we receive back
the infinite. The
power of prayer feeds the food of God to the hungry soul. Our soul hungers to be
near God. Our soul hungers for God's touch of love, care, compassion, and
wisdom. The
power of prayer gives us faith in our fears, strength in our anxieties, and
confidence in our hesitations. What
is most remarkable about the power of prayer is the power is available to us
every second. The power is already in our possession. The power of prayer is
within us at all times. We need not order it, buy it, or trade for it. The power
of prayer is ours for the mere asking in humility and awe of God's love. We get
the power by humbly asking Christ to be with us and share His power as is His
will to do. |
