About power over death…
Ephesians 1:18 .I pray also that the eyes
of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he
has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and his
incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of
his mighty strength, 20 which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the
dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all
rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not
only in the present age but also in the one to come. (NIV)
No human being has ultimate
power over death. No human being has ever lived forever in a human body on
earth. Satan's last stab in our back is the moment we call death. However,
things are not always what they appear to be. What appears to be the end of life
is, for a Christian, the beginning of eternity. When it seems Satan has brought
the ultimate darkness upon you or the ones you love, Christ rolls back the stone
of the tomb and proclaims your victory over death. When the darkness of death
has taken away your sight, Christ comes to give you sight to see the marvels and
wonders of heavenly realms. When you grow lame and your legs no longer hold you
up, Christ reaches down and pulls you up to Heaven where you have new arms, new
legs, and a totally new body. Christ has power over death. He gave His love so
you can join Him by shedding the flesh and bones causing you so much pain. The
power of Christ over death flows into your heart and helps you see His truth.
