About power to be only who God made you to be…

Psalm 69:30 I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. 31 This will please the LORD more than an ox, more than a bull with its horns and hoofs. (NIV)

It is not a message any of us want to hear, but we are all sinners. We are all fallen creatures bent upon a path of destruction called death. Some of us are even on a path of self-destruction caused by letting our sin overtake our hearts, minds, and souls. However, you have many choices and decisions you can make every minute. You can choose to be a person who glorifies God or a person who glorifies evil. When you choose to selfishly sit in your dark thoughts, God is not glorified. When you choose not to do anything godly, God is not glorified. For the truth is this…God made you a person who is to glorify Him in all you say, all you think, and all you do. Your sinful nature wants just the opposite. Your sinful nature wants no glorification of God. We can often try and be someone we are not. We can easily let ourselves be a person God did NOT make us to be. However, we find the power to be only who God made us to be when get tough with ourselves and reject our sin. We find the power to be godly, devout, and righteous by making a supreme effort and making a supreme sacrifice to control ourselves within our heart, mind, and soul. You can try to be someone you are not by trying to use gifts God DID NOT give you and by rejecting the gifts God DID give you. However, God made you to be a person who expresses His love using the gifts He gave you. God made you to be a person who is humble rather than be a person who is proud and egotistical. God made you to be a person who can make a supreme sacrifice for Him because He lives within your heart.
