Previous Daily Devotional About power to heal others… Proverbs 15:4 The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, (NIV) Most of us are not doctors. Even when a person is a doctor, the doctor does not actually do any healing, for the healing energy in our body is the province of God. When someone needs healing, how can you have the power, find the power, or use the power to heal him or her? You can heal others by forgiving them. You can heal others by conveying the love of God to them. You can heal others by loving them as they are, where they are, like they are. You can heal others by being kind, caring, and compassionate. You can heal others by touching their heart and life in ways they can understand and accept. You can heal others by being totally unselfish and letting them know they come first in your life. In truth, you do not heal others. Like a doctor, you can do as much as you can to let healing take place. But you cannot force healing power on someone. What you can do is bring the light and love of Christ into a person's life, and then let God do His work in love. Amazingly, when we bring healing power to others, healing can and most often does take place. The truth is, we can all be conveyers of healing power. Just as Christ touched the unclean leper and healed him, you can touch others with His love and with His healing power. Through you, His power of love will heal, restore, and make all things new. |
