Previous Daily Devotional 2 Corinthians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. About praising God in difficult times You are not an island separated from your environment by a vast sea. It is doubtful that you wear protective suits of armor or suits to protect you from toxins in the air. You are a very vulnerable human being who responds to your environment, to your surroundings, to the news of the world, to other people, to inner and outer conflicts, to the rage, and to the love that is a part of your world. You (along with the rest of us) live your life as if you are in a soup made up of both the force and power of the Holy Spirit and the dark forces from Satan. You are pushed and pulled in different directions on different days. As you are pushed and pulled, you are to praise God. Not for Gods sake, but for your sake. As you are pushed and pulled, one of the ways you can praise God is to humbly tell Him you love Him. You can speak these words as your silent prayer and you can show Him you love Him by finding ways to pass on His love. Then others who receive His love from you will also find Him in their hearts and souls. |
