Previous Daily Devotional About
prayer and praying, Part 2 of 5 Colossians
4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. (NIV) We
reach up into the invisible to touch the invisible. We reach up because we
either believe or want to believe, which are both the same. We reach up in
prayer because we want the power of God to manifest itself in our life. We reach
up for selfish and unselfish reasons. However, what is more important than why
we pray is the fact we do pray to make contact with God. We
pray because we believe in a God who listens to us and who will answer us. We
pray for strength to endure what we must endure. We
pray for strength to live one more hour and do the right thing during that hour. We
pray to get what we want even knowing we should want something else from our
Lord. When
we pray we transcend our worldly limitations by reaching up and communing with
the infinite.
