Previous Daily Devotional About praying when evil strikes… Psalm 18:6 In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears. (NIV) Your prayers may not seem like they make any difference if you pray when evil strikes, but thinking praying does not make any difference when evil strikes is the result of evil's deception. Whatever results you want and expect from your prayers when evil strikes may not seem to materialize in this world. However, this lack of worldly materialization from your prayers is a deception, for there is surely a materialization in the spiritual realms that manifests itself in the worldly realms. Others may lose their minds when evil strikes, but they lose their minds because they are being deceived by the evil. Chaos may seem to have taken over when evil strikes, but the chaos is the result of a deception by the evil. The shock in your life may not go away when evil strikes. However, the shock only exists to support the deception evil has won. Evil may seem to have won when evil strikes, but this idea evil has won is a deception, for evil can only lose in the end. All hope may seem to have vanished when evil strikes, but this is a deception because hope always exists and always overflows from the throne of God. There may seem to be no way out when evil strikes, but this idea there is no way out is a deception, because there is always a way out through the Door. There may seem to be no end to the chaos and madness when evil strikes. However, the perception there is no end to the chaos is a deception because there is always an end to evil's chaos and madness. Although evil is real, evil has no power over us without our willingness to accept the deception of evil. Evil can even come in and destroy our life on earth, but the destruction of our earthly body is a deception because our spirit is indestructible. Evil seemed to have won and destroyed the life of Christ. However, what evil appeared to do, we found out later, was not really the destruction of Christ's life on earth. We found out later, evil had lost for eternity. |
