Previous Daily Devotional About the profound stillness… 1 Kings 19:12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. (KJV) We live in a world of noise. If we encounter stillness, we turn on a radio or TV so the sound fills the silence. However, God is not often found in the blare of a radio, TV, or mp3 player. God is most often found in the profound stillness of His love. In between the noise and the blaring sounds of our civilization, we must seek out the still small voice of God. For reasons we do not always know, God does not boom His voice into our heart and life. For reasons we do not always know, God is often silent. However, in His silence, you can find Him. In the silence of your life, God stands next to you. In the silence of your life, Christ fills every part of your silence with His love and grace. Your silence need not be emptiness. Instead, your silence can be filled with Christ's glory and grace. If you will open your heart and mind, you will come to treasure every moment of your silence. You will treasure your silence because your silence is His silence. In His silence, you will find Him.
