Previous Daily Devotional About reaching out to God… Acts 17:27 God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. All of us live in the secular world. As a respite from the darkness in the world, we retreat to a Christian gathering at church to worship or to a Bible study to learn more about God and His ways. However, the fact is we all live in the darkness of the world. God hopes and wills that we should reach out to Him from the dark world in which we live. Although we live in a dark world, God hopes we can seek Him out. Of course, God cannot force us to reach out to Him. God can, does, and will talk to us and get us to come to our secular senses, but we too often do not listen. Reaching out to God has to be our decision. Reaching out to God is the most important choice anyone will ever make. Reaching out to God in the middle of the pain, suffering, worry, anxiety, fear, doubt, and sometimes trauma of our life looks nearly impossible if we step back and look at our life from an objective point of view. However, all things are possible with God. Because all things are possible with God, you can reach out to Him, and more importantly, you can reach BEYOND all the pain, suffering, worry, anxiety, fear, and doubt you have. You can not only reach out to God and reach beyond the darkness of this life, you can even touch God and you can even let God touch you. The reason you can touch God and let God can touch you is because you don't have very far to reach. The reason you can touch God and God can touch you is because He lives within you. Every moment, God and His kingdom are within you. Although your life may be covered over in all kinds of pain, stress, and darkness within your heart, there is a real live person called Jesus Christ who calls you every second. And every second He calls, He yearns with all the power of the universe that you would answer Him. |
