About the real battle of life…

Luke 6:32 "If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' love those who love them. (NIV)

We all have many battles to fight every day in the spiritual war in which we are engaged. We have the battles of suffering, pain, heartache, worry, doubt, indecision, finances, and relationships, just to name a few. Our greatest battle is whether we can remain unselfish during this spiritual war. If, during these battles, we can remain unselfish then we can have a peace and contentment that passes all understanding. If we can remain unselfish, we can win out over all the dark power and dark influences wanting to destroy us. We can pray in faith. We can be a visible and shining witness for Christ to the world. However, if we slip and get selfish, everything in our life comes crashing down in failure. Everyone wants a happy and successful life. However, if we do not admit we can and sometimes do slip into selfishness, then our failure is the predictable result. Our continual challenge in life is to be honest enough to admit we can and sometimes are selfish. We are all born selfish. Selfishness is an unfortunate part of humanity. However, through Christ, we can, in spiritual terms, get out or away from our selfishness by repentance and accepting Christ as our Savior. When you surrender your all to Christ, there is nothing left in you. When you surrender your all, your selfishness is gone. Then when your selfishness is erased, at that instant, Christ comes and pours His love into your heart and soul.
