Previous Daily Devotional About real respect for God… Deuteronomy 6:13 Fear the Lord your God, serve him only and take your oaths in his name. (NIV) When we respect others, we don’t get up in their face and tell them what we think. Instead, we are hesitant to speak our mind because we have a healthy regard for others. In addition, when we show respect for others because we see the space around them that is theirs and theirs alone. When we respect others we do not violate their person. We do not violate their beliefs. We do not invade their space. We do not violate their life or physical being. We do not interfere with others. When we respect others we honor persons by being polite. In the same way, if you fear God in a respectful way, you don’t tell God what you think He ought to do. You might even be angry at God for whatever reason. You might be disappointed with God. However, you don’t disrespect Him. When you respect God in a healthy way, you are always willing to do His will rather than always asking Him to do your will.
