About the really bad and really good news…

Romans 7:23 but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. (NIV)

There is some really bad news about the way things are going. The really bad news is we all have a great adversary in our life. The really, really bad news is in our life the great adversary will someday kill us. The adversary will not only kill us but will kill everyone we know. Horribly, everyone on earth now living will die. Of course that is really, really bad news. What is even worse news is the great adversary is not content with just killing us. The great adversary will make every attempt to torture us, torment us, tempt us, twist us, and rip us apart before we die. It is likely you have been, in the past, and it is likely you will be in the future, tortured, tormented, tempted, twisted, and ripped apart. Yet, in all this bad news, Satan's greatest weapon against us is ourselves. Satan will take every opportunity to make us feel sorry for ourselves, make us feel self-pity for ourselves, and make us turn us inward upon ourselves. Sound familiar? Satan will take every accomplishment of others and try to make us feel neglected through the actions or inactions of others. Sound familiar? Satan will take our needs and desires and ramp up the pain from our needs and desires until we think we cannot take the pain any more. Sound familiar? However, there is good news. The really good news is no matter what Satan does to us in this life, we have another life waiting. We have heaven waiting. In this life we may taste defeat but in the next life we will savor the victory of eternal life in Christ Jesus forever.
