About receiving the blessing of Christ's compassion…

Psalm 24:4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. 5 He will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God his Savior. 6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob. (NIV)

Matthew 19:29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. 30 But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first. (NIV)

Christ's compassion is poured over us each hour. We cannot find His compassion by physical or mental effort. We cannot find His compassion on our own with just our own effort. To receive Christ's compassion we must have the heart to receive His compassion. A heart that is able to receive compassion is a heart that is already giving compassion. The process of receiving His compassion requires we open ourselves up. We must open our hearts to His love for us. We must open our lives up to His will for us. We must open our minds up to His tenderness. To receive Christ's compassion we must not only open up our hearts, but we must also be wise enough to close off our minds to the darkness that seeks to destroy His touch within us. Receiving His compassion means we open our arms to Christ, for He opens His arms to us. To receive His compassion we must give up our selfishness and give in to His call upon our hurting heart to receive His love and Holy Spirit. We must give away His compassion in order to receive it. It works this way in everyday life. The more compassionate and caring you are toward others, the more compassionate and caring they are towards you.
