About recommitting our life to Christ 1 Peter 4:19 So then, those who suffer according to God's will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good. (NIV) If we are honest, we will admit the world attracts us. If we are honest, we will admit the world tempts us. Without knowing it or realizing it, darkness springs upon us and we falter. If we are honest, we hear the dark and secular voices of the world calling to us. However, Christ also calls us and we do listen to Him. Our faith is smaller than a mustard seed. It is because our faith is so small, that Christ calls us to recommit our life to Him. Christ knows your battles. Christ knows your trials in standing up to the world. Christ knows that you fall down and make mistakes. When you recommit your life to Him, it signifies that you hear Him tenderly calling you to remain in Him. When you recommit your life to Christ, it means you have heard Him tenderly calling you to confront issues that you cannot change on your own. He tenderly calls you when you suddenly discover you have somehow lost Him in the chaos of your life. Christ's love for you, His compassion for you, is the gentle nudge upon your heart that causes you to grieve when you think only of yourself and your own needs. When you recommit your life to Him, it means you love Him and that you have received His love for you. When you recommit your life to Him, it means that all your regrets have been washed away. When you come back to Christ, all your regrets have been erased by His forgiving arms that He has wrapped around you. |
