About remembering Christ forgives you…

John 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. (NIV)

Christ does not approve of sinful thoughts and behavior.
Christ does not like sinful thoughts and behavior.
Christ does not want sinful behavior.
Christ detests sinful behavior.

Although Christ does not approve, does not like, does not want, and detests sinful behavior, Christ still forgives you. In forgiving you, Christ does not give you a license to sin. When Christ forgives you and you truly accept His forgiving love in humility and contrition, you do not want to ever sin again. The forgiving love of Christ is not meant to be some kind of temporary eraser wiping out your sins to make you feel better so you can sin again. The forgiving love of Christ is meant to change you and make you want to turn away permanently from ever thinking or doing sinful things again. When you fully accept Christ's forgiving love, you are not held prisoner to guilt or shame. Christ wants you to be free of the prison of your sinful past.
