Previous Daily Devotional About renewal in love and faith… Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. (NIV) All of us grow tired. None of us have the capacity to keep going forever and ever. We do not have the capacity to keep going for more than a few hours without rest and recuperation. All of us need to be renewed in our spiritual life as well as renewed in our physical life. In our spiritual life we grow weak and weary. In our spiritual life we walk by faith and not by sight. We love an invisible being called God and we are not able to tangibly connect to God like we tangibly connect to things and people of the world. We undergo profound and fundamental transformation in our heart and soul when we open our heart fully to God. When we are tired and we open our heart fully to God, we can pour out our hopes and dreams, our disappointments, our fears and anxieties, our hurts and pains, and all the other inner life ingredients we hold within us. When we are tired, our faith comes to the rescue in our weariness. Our faith brings us love…the very love that is the substance of God. Our faith comes to the rescue by renewing our tired spirit by infusing in us new hope, new love, new peace, and new vision for tomorrow and for all the days to come. |
