About the secret to freedom…
Psalm 25:15 My eyes are ever on the LORD,
for only He will release my feet from the snare. (NIV)
Some of us are caught in many circumstances over which we have limited
control. When you are trapped or tied down by the snares of life's
circumstances, you need to look up. Our natural inclination in our heart and
mind is to focus only upon our own problems. When we hurt, we grasp the hurting
part of us to try and ease the pain. What hurts us always grabs or traps our
attention and we focus upon that hurt. When we are trapped by pain, although we
might not always understand the mechanism, God is the way to our freedom. No
matter how grim a circumstance might be in your life, one way or another, sooner
or later, God will come to the rescue and give you freedom if you look up to
Him. When we fully invest all we have and all we are in Christ, He gives us a
freedom in the snares of life we cannot find anywhere else. To have this freedom
when the snares of life entangle us requires faith. For when we have real faith
in God, the snares of pain in life become only an inconvenience. When we keep
our eyes upon Christ, in ways we do not understand, we find a freedom and joy we
cannot express, no matter what might tie us down to the ground.
