About seeing beyond the surface of life…
Matthew 12:6 I tell you that one greater than the temple is here. (NIV)
We all think we see what is going on. We all think we know what is happening. However,
the truth is that we only see the very surface of things. We only see the very surface of
the people we think we know so well. We only see the surface of the material things of
life. We only see the brick, mortar, and stone of a building. What lies beneath the
surface of all things and beneath the surface of all life is a power. Beneath the surface
of all things and all life is THE power…the power of God. This power, the power of
God, holds atomic particles in their orbits and in their place in the sub-atomic world.
The glue or the cohesive force that keeps all things from melting down is the power of
God. The power of gravity caused by the moon causes the tides of the ocean. Yet, the power
that keeps the substance of the moon together is the power of God. It is this same power,
the power of God, that can direct your life. What we see in the world is a hard exterior.
What is beneath the hard exterior is the soft, kind, gentle, and merciful love of Christ.
If we are willing, He will show us His spirit, His love, and His mercy in every part of
our lives.
