Previous Daily Devotional About seeing blessings Psalm 107:1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. 2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say this-- those he redeemed from the hand of the foe, 3 those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south (NIV) We can count our blessings in a grand and glorious mental exercise. However, counting our blessings in our mind is often not enough. We become a blessing to God as we actually see His blessings poured out in our lives. It is not enough to just think about how God blesses us with freedom to worship. We become a blessing to God when we actually do worship. It is not enough to just think about praying and how we can come close to God in prayer. We become a blessing to God when we actually do pray and when we actually do come close to Him in prayer. Blessings are poured out in our lives not just to be counted. God pours blessings out in our lives so we can see them, absorb them, and take them in. When we see His blessings, when we absorb them, and when we take His blessings in, we can fully become His work and witness. When we see His blessings, when we absorb them, and when we take His blessings in, we can be full participants and members of God's work upon the earth. For in seeing, absorbing, and taking in His blessings, the warm glow of His love and friendship resides in us every day. For as we see His blessings, His power to overcome our obstacles gives us the power to see and fully experience His blessings as our obstacles melt away. |
