About seeing that everything is temporary…

Matthew 24:1 Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2 "Do you see all these things?" he asked. "I tell you the truth, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down." (NIV)

One of the great mysteries of the Christian life is how we can experience peace and joy in the middle of searing pain. Although how we experience joy and peace in pain is a mystery, our experience and testimony about this mystery confirms our experience. We live in God's grace and love for we know He loves us. We experience peace and joy because we live in His peace and joy. No single moment, or no single moments strung together can overpower God. God brings us the peace and joy of our life in the middle of our darkness. All things are temporary for us. All things are temporary on the earth, for one day all things will pass away. Although all things are temporary, we know that Christ is permanent. We know God the Father, Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit are eternal. They have always been and will always be. We know Christ love's us and touches us. We know Christ's love and touch upon us will never cease. In Christ, we connect to God. In Christ's arms, we know He will always be with us. The great work and achievements of human beings last only a short time. The dreams of men and women come true, yet along with these dreams comes pain and suffering. Each day, each hour, and each minute, we constantly add wealth or poverty into the Lord's storehouse. Our future life, even our eternal life, is lived out in the building we build today. Each minute Christ calls you to build your life to glorify Him. Each minute Christ is ready to supply you with the power to build a spiritual building made of the spiritual brick and mortar of love and humility.
